iBite - Bite Force Sensor Solution
iBite is the World's first Digital Bite Force Sensing solution that makes it easy to measure bite strength of patients before and after dental procedures. The iBite kit includes a force sensor with a comfortable biting surface, a USB or Wireless (XBee, WiFi or BLE) digital interface and LoadVUE Pro software. The software works on any Windows PC or Tablet and lets a user capture, display, log and plot the force vs. time data. The sensor comes pre-calibrated with a NIST traceable calibration certificate included.
The Challenge

There is no good easy to use and reliable tool to measure the bite force of a person. Or even of animals. This information can be very useful to characterize dental and maxillofacial issues.
-
With a easy to use digital force measurement tool, a physician or physical therapist can quantitatively track the progress of the patient before and after dental procedures or physical therapy.

iBite Sensor with Wireless Interface
We also offer a wireless kit. In this case, the sensor is mated with a wireless DI-1000ZP which has a built in rechargeable battery and can be used cordlessly for between 1-2 hours per charge. The transmitter is built into the DI-1000ZP and a receiver dongle with a USB connector is provided as part of the kit. Both the USB and wireless kits come precalibrated and ready to use with a calibration certificate traceable to NIST standards.
