These resistive load cells are built using straing gauges and offer excellent accuracies, good off-center tolerance and temperature compensation. Most common scales use these type of load cells. They typically are excited at 10V DC and offer 20 milliVolt total change in raw signal when full scale loading is applied.

You can combine these load cells with the AI-1000 signal conditioner and amplifier or the DI-100U/DI-1000U digital interface for easy connections to a PC with USB ports.

RSP1 Single Point Parallel beam Load Cell Configuration

Simply connect the load cell to the DI-1000 Digital Load Cell Interface & use the USB out port on the DI-1000 to connect to a PC via the USB port. The DI-1000U is a signal conditioner and 24-bit digitizer and handles all the communications functions to talk with USB port of a PC.  When connected this way, the load cell appears on the PC as a virtual COM port. Using a standard terminal emulator you can send commands to the sensor to display loads on screen. They can either be one at a time or in continuous operation mode. You can also use Matlab, LabView or other popular programs to communicate and get calibrated readings from the load cell.  Alternatively, use our application (LoadVUE) to display, log or plot load measurements on a PC.

If you do not need high precision, you can use the DI-100U digital load cell interface with 16 bit ADCs and Serial TTL or USB output.

In certain applications, you might require an Analog 0-5 V DC output from the load cell to communicate with a PLC or another existing Data Acquisition System.  In such cases, you can use our load cell signal conditioner - the AI-1000 device to obtain a 0-5 V DC Analog output from the load cell.

If you need a physical LED display directly connected to the load cell, then you can purchase the RD-1000 LED load cell indicator with the load cell.

Application Development

If you are looking to develop your own custom software application, this combination offers convenient ASCII commands to obtain load information directly from the interface/load cell without need for any signal conditioning or data processing.

You can use Visual Basic, Visual C++, Matlab, LABView or any other application development environment to create your custom applications with our interface/load cells.
